Programs and Services Offered by PTCLL
What types of programs does PTCLL offer?
PTCLL offers the following programs to residents of Peachtree
City and surrounding communities.
- Spring Baseball — Our spring
recreational baseball program typically begins in late January
and ends in mid-May. Turnout is typically very high, and the
level of competition is also typically high. Boys and girls
from ages 4 to 15 are eligible to participate.
- Fall Baseball — Our fall
recreational baseball program typically begins in August and
ends in early November. Turnout is typically strong, but lower
than spring baseball, and the level of competition is also
lower than spring. Boys and girls from ages 4 to 14 are
eligible to participate.
- Challenger Baseball — Each spring
and fall, we offer the Challenger program for special-needs
children and adults ages 4 and up.
- All-Star Baseball — Through our
affiliation with Little League, we form all-star teams that
compete against teams from other Little League organizations at
various age levels in all-star tournaments during the summer
all-star season. Players are chosen for our all-star teams
based on their performance during the spring baseball
season.
Does PTCLL offer a softball program?
No, PTCLL does not offer a softball program. But recreational
softball for girls is available in Peachtree City through another
local organization: the Peachtree City Girls Softball Association
(PTCGSA) offers recreational softball for girls from ages 4 to
18. PTCGSA has no official affiliation with PTCLL or Little
League International. For more information about PTCGSA, see
https://www.ptcgsa.com/. Please direct all questions
about PTCGSA to that organization at [email protected].
Does PTCLL offer a travel baseball program?
No, PTCLL does not offer a travel baseball program. But many
of our players participate in travel baseball in addition to
PTCLL baseball. There are many travel baseball teams active in
and around Peachtree City.
Does PTCLL offer baseball camps, clinics, or individual
lessons?
No, we do not offer baseball camps, clinics, or individual
lessons. But there are several organizations in and around
Peachtree City that offer these services, and many PTCLL players
participate in them.
Eligibility to Participate in PTCLL Programs
What ages are eligible to participate in PTCLL programs?
Our spring baseball program is open to children whose League
Age is 4 to 15. Our fall baseball program is open to children
whose League Age is 4 to 14. A childʼs League
Age is defined by Little League based on their month of birth. To
determine your childʼs League Age for 2025,
see Little Leagueʼs official 2025 League Age Chart.
Our challenger program is open to special-needs children and
special-needs adults ages 4 and up.
My child is 3 years old but will turn 4 this year. Can he or she participate?
For liability insurance purposes, and as per Little League
policy, our league does not allow a child to participate during a
calendar year unless the child will be at least 4 years old prior
to September 1. So, if your child will be 4 years old on or
before August 31 of this year, then he or she may participate
this year.
I do not live in Peachtree City. Can my child participate in PTCLL?
PTCLLʼs league boundary extends beyond
Peachtree City and includes many of the surrounding communities.
The following image shows our league boundary. If your child
resides or attends school within the league boundary, then he or
she is eligible to participate in PTCLL programs.
PTCLL League Boundary Map
If you are uncertain about whether your address falls inside
PTCLLʼs league boundary, you can use the
Little League Baseball League Finder tool to find out for sure.
Note that in some cases, PTCLL does allow out-of-boundary
players to participate in our league. But in these cases,
participation is subject to a Little League waiver process and
requires endorsement by a PTCLL Board member. In addition,
players who reside and attend school outside our league boundary
are typically subject to a one-year
“redshirt” rule that prohibits
their participation in our all-star program until their second
year of league participation.
To inquire about an out-of-boundary waiver, please contact us
at [email protected].
My child plays for a travel baseball team. Can he or she
also participate in PTCLL?
Yes, your child can participate in PTCLL baseball and also
play travel baseball. PTCLL does not place any restrictions on
players who choose to participate in both. For teams in our
player-pitch divisions, we typically do not schedule weekend
games, so that we can accommodate the schedules of those who play
PTCLL baseball plus weekend travel baseball.
Note that if your child participates on multiple teams, we
strongly urge you to exercise sound judgment to help prevent
overuse injuries, particularly if your child is a pitcher or a
catcher for a travel team as well as a PTCLL team. All players in
PTCLLʼs player-pitch divisions are subject to
Little League limitations on pitches per day and
minimum rest requirements for pitchers within PTCLL. But we
obviously cannot track or enforce any such requirements for
baseball activities outside of PTCLL. It is therefore the
responsibility of players and their parents to exercise due care
and caution when participating in PTCLL as well as travel
baseball.
Getting Involved with PTCLL
How can I volunteer my time with PTCLL?
PTCLL welcomes and encourages volunteer participation. Each
season, our organization depends upon hundreds of volunteers who
generously contribute their time for the benefit of our players.
We have a variety of volunteer roles available. Most of our
volunteers are parents or grandparents of children who
participate in the league; however, this is not required. Anyone
may volunteer, subject to completion of a mandatory Little League
background check process and approval by the PTCLL Board of
Directors. PTCLL works with a trusted third-party service to
complete background checks for volunteers, and there is no cost
to the volunteer for the background check.
Most of our volunteers participate in one of the following
team-oriented volunteer roles.
- Team Manager — A team manager is
responsible for managing a team and serving as its
“head coach”.
- Assistant Coach — An assistant
coach is responsible for assisting the team manager on the
field during practices and games.
- Team Volunteer — A team volunteer
is responsible for assisting the team in the dugout and/or with
other team administrative tasks.
To volunteer in one of these team-oriented roles, you first
need to create an account and register on our league website at
https://www.ptcll.org/. Then you
can register using the “Register”
button on the website. There is no financial cost to become a
PTCLL volunteer; however, some volunteer roles require a
substantial time commitment throughout the duration of the
season.
In addition to these team-oriented volunteer roles, we have
various other administrative volunteer roles available at the
league level, including Board Member roles and League Officer
roles. These roles typically require a higher level of commitment
over a longer duration of time (e.g., one year or more). To
inquire about volunteering in one of these roles, please contact
us at [email protected].
Please note: As per Little League policy, all PTCLL volunteers must be at least 16 years of age. And as per PTCLL policy, all team managers must be at least 18 years of age. In addition, any volunteer with repeat access to children must complete an abuse awareness training course. Volunteers under 18 must complete the minors course. Volunteers over 18 must complete the adult course.
Please contact our Sponsorship Director at [email protected].
How can I become a PTCLL umpire?
Please contact our Chief Umpire at [email protected].
League Structure, Capacity, Divisions of Play, and Teams
How are the divisions of play structured within PTCLL?
PTCLL offers three divisions of play, with participation based
on a playerʼs League Age:
- Our Tee Ball / Rookie Division is for players whose
League Age is 4-6. Within this division, we typically form
multiple subdivisions, including one or more Tee-Ball
subdivisions and a Rookie subdivision. These subdivisions are
non-competitive (i.e., wins and losses are not recorded) and
are focused on having fun while learning the fundamentals of
baseball. Tee Ball is primarily intended for first-time players
and kids who are League Age 4-5, while Rookie Ball is intended
for players who are League Age 5-6 and/or slightly more
experienced.
- Our Little League Division is for players whose
League Age is 7-12. This division includes four subdivisions,
in order of decreasing skill level and age: Majors,
Triple-A (AAA), Double-A (AA), and
Single-A (A). We slot players into subdivisions based on
the results of our preseason player evaluations, as well as age
and physical size. All four subdivisions are competitive (i.e.,
wins and losses are recorded, and standings are maintained),
with standard Little League baseball rules (modified as
appropriate per subdivision skill level) and officiated by
impartial umpires.
- The Majors subdivision is our highest-tier
subdivision of player-pitch baseball at Little League field
dimensions: 60-foot base paths and 46-foot pitching distance.
It is primarily for kids whose League Age is 11-12, with
exceptions for younger kids (League Age 10) as appropriate
based on their physical size and skill level.
- The Triple-A (AAA) subdivision is a lower-tier
player-pitch subdivision at 60-foot/46-foot field dimensions.
It is primarily for kids whose League Age is 10-11, with
exceptions for younger kids (League Age 9) as appropriate
based on their physical size and skill level.
- The Double-A (AA) subdivision is a beginner
player-pitch subdivision at 60-foot/46-foot field dimensions.
It is designed as an introduction to player-pitch baseball,
with appropriate rule modifications to ensure a positive
experience for kids who are transitioning from coach-pitch
baseball to player-pitch baseball. It is primarily for kids
whose League Age is 9-10, with exceptions for younger kids
(League Age 8) as appropriate based on their physical size and skill
level.
- The Single-A (A) subdivision is a coach-pitch
subdivision at 60-foot field dimensions. It is primarily for
kids whose League Age is 7-8, with exceptions for younger
kids (League Age 6) as appropriate based on their physical size and skill
level.
- Our Senior Division is for kids whose League Age is
13-15. In this division, the base paths and pitching distance
are the same as Major League Baseball (MLB) field dimensions
(i.e., 90-foot base paths, 60.5-foot pitching distance), and
the rules allow for all aspects of baseball, including leads,
steals, balks, etc.
Please note the following “fine print” regarding our divisions of play.
- Within the Little League division, a player may
“play up” in a more competitive subdivision, or “play down” in a
less competitive subdivision, subject to the age limits indicated
above. Parents may request that their child play up or play
down by adding a comment to that effect at registration time;
however, all decisions regarding subdivision placement are
subject to approval by the PTCLL Board, and we very rarely allow
players to “play down”.
- The age limits indicated above are in effect for our Spring
Baseball program. For our Fall Baseball program, we
adjust the League Age requirement downward by one year for each
division and subdivision, thereby allowing players to gain
experience at a higher level of play in preparation for the
following spring season.
How many teams and players participate in PTCLL each season?
For logistical purposes, PTCLL places limits on the number of
teams that we form each season. These limits are based on three
factors: the number of fields that are available for our use at
local facilities in Peachtree City, the number of individuals who
volunteer to manage teams in any given season, and the
“hard cap” limits imposed by PTCLLʼs charter with Little League
International. In addition, PTCLL places limits on the number of
players per team, so that we can keep team sizes at an optimal
level for the benefit of the players. The maximum team size
varies by age group.
Do PTCLL teams play against teams from other leagues?
The only PTCLL teams that play against teams from other
leagues are our all-star teams. Within
“regular season” play, all PTCLL
teams play exclusively against other PTCLL teams.
Do PTCLL teams participate in travel ball tournaments?
No. PTCLL does not participate directly in travel baseball;
however, many PTCLL players also participate in travel baseball
in addition to PTCLL baseball.
Facilities
Where are games and practices held?
All games and most practices are held at the Peachtree City Athletic Complex, 1125 Hwy 74 S,
Peachtree City, GA 30269.
However, due to field availability constraints, some teams may
hold practices at the Braelinn Recreation Center, 201 Log House Rd,
Peachtree City, GA 30269.
Where are preseason assessments held?
For most seasons, preseason assessments are held at D-BAT Peachtree City, 297 Dividend Drive,
Peachtree City, GA 30269. Note that assessments are open only
to players who have registered during the registration period.
Parents of registered players will receive more information via
email about assessments, including the assessment schedule,
required equipment, etc.
Registration
I did not register my child to play during the registration
period. Can my child still participate this season?
No. Unfortunately, as per our league policy, we do not accept
late registrations. You will have to wait until registration
opens for the following season.
When does registration open and close for the next PTCLL season?
For Spring 2025, registration opens on November 26, 2024, and closes on January 7, 2025.
What is the cost to participate in PTCLL?
For Spring 2025, the cost to participate in PTCLL is as follows.
- For our Tee-Ball / Rookie Division: $175 per player
- For our Little League Division and Senior Division: $250 per player
To determine your childʼs League Age,
please see Little Leagueʼs official 2025 League Age Chart.
Are any discounts or fee waivers available?
We occasionally offer discounts and/or fee waivers, but only in cases of extreme financial hardship. To inquire about a
discount or fee waiver, contact us at [email protected].
Is there a non-resident fee for players who do not live in
Peachtree City?
In previous seasons, PTCLL charged a non-resident fee for players who reside outside Peachtree City; however, we no longer assess this fee.
Must my child “try out” to play in PTCLL?
No. There are no “tryouts”
required for participation in PTCLL. All players who register
during the registration period will be assigned to a team and
will have an opportunity to play, regardless of experience or
skill level. However, PTCLL does conduct preseason player
assessments. These assessments serve two purposes:
- They allow us to slot players into the appropriate division
and subdivision based on their age, size, and skill level.
- They allow us to estimate the relative skill level of each
player within each division and subdivision, so that we can
help ensure a reasonable level of competitive parity among the
teams in each division and subdivision.
What PTCLL team will my child play on?
For our noncompetitive Tee-Ball and Rookie Division, players
are assigned to teams at random (with due consideration for
player age and size) or according to special requests for
teammate and/or coach preferences.
For our Little League Division and Senior Division, players
are assigned to teams through a structured draft process that is
designed to promote competitive parity among all teams that will
compete with each other during the season. Note that for these
divisions, we do take teammate preferences and/or coach
preferences into consideration; however, we prioritize
competitive parity and safety first.
You can expect to receive an announcement via email about your
childʼs team for the season within 2-3 weeks
after registration closes, after we have completed the assessment
and draft processes.
Who will coach my childʼs PTCLL team?
All our teams are coached by volunteers, and most of our
volunteers are parents or grandparents of players. Each team has
a team manager, and teams typically have two or more assistant
coaches. All our volunteers are required to pass a mandatory
Little League background check before they are permitted to
coach.
Can I make a special request for specific teammates or coaches?
Yes. In most cases, PTCLL tries to accommodate special
requests regarding coaches and teammates. We recognize that
players and families often prefer to team up with friends and
neighbors, either for carpooling purposes or simply for
continuity among teammates and coaches from one season to
another. But please note the following conditions and
exceptions.
- We Prioritize Safety and Competitive Parity
— At the start of each season, all players
who are age 7 and up go through a simple baseball skills
assessment process to determine their approximate level of
baseball ability. Based on the assessment results, players are
then slotted into appropriate divisions of play and placed on
teams within those divisions through a draft process. Our goal
is to structure the divisions and teams so that players are
playing with and against other players who are at a similar
level of ability, and so that within each division, there is a
reasonable level of competitive parity among the teams. In
general, we try to honor teammate requests when structuring
divisions and teams. However, in cases where a teammate request
would lead to a competitive imbalance or compromise the safety
of players, we will deny the request.
- Requests MUST Be Made at Registration Time
— When you complete the registration process
for your child, you will have an opportunity to indicate any
special requests for teammates or coaches. This is the only
“official” communication channel
through which you can make special teammate requests, and the
only channel through which you can be certain that your special
request will be seen and considered. Requests made through
alternate communication channels (e.g., via email) may fall
through the cracks, as we typically receive many emails from
parents each season. So please make all special teammate
requests at registration time.
- Pragmatic Limitations Based on Team Sizes
— In some cases, we may receive too many
requests for a specific teammate and/or coach. Many of our
long-time team managers have built great relationships with
players and families over the years that they have coached, and
it is not uncommon for dozens of players to request the same
coach. In these cases, the team manager typically can choose
which requests to honor, within the pragmatic constraints of
team size as well as competitive parity.
Can I make a special request due to my personal or family schedule constraints?
In general, no, we cannot guarantee that your child will be
placed on a team with a specific practice or game schedule. In a
typical season, we have 500+ kids registered to play baseball,
and 40+ teams across all our divisions. With this many players
and teams, it is unrealistic for us to try to honor
everyoneʼs personal schedule constraints.
However, please note the following.
- We typically do not schedule weekend games for teams in our
player-pitch divisions, so that we can accommodate those who
play PTCLL baseball plus weekend travel baseball and/or other
weekend activities.
- PTCLL is a recreational baseball program, so if your child
needs to miss some practices or games occasionally,
itʼs not typically a problem. We understand
that parents and families are busy, and conflicts do arise. If
you anticipate schedule conflicts for your child or your
family, itʼs up to you to decide whether
your child should play. During the season, if conflicts arise
and your child cannot attend a team practice or a game, you can
communicate with your team manager about it.
- If you want greater control over your
childʼs practice and game schedule, and if
your schedule permits, we highly encourage you to consider
volunteering as a team manager. As a team manager, you will
have the ability to choose your teamʼs
practice schedule (within certain constraints), and we will
also try to work with you to make sure your
teamʼs schedule works for you (again, within
certain constraints).
Where should I submit the Little League Medical Release form for my child?
When you complete the registration process, your order
confirmation email will include a link to a blank copy of the
standard Little League Medical Release form. Many parents
mistakenly assume that this form is to be completed and submitted
to PTCLL. But the league does NOT need a copy of it and will not
store a copy of it. This form is intended to be completed and
submitted to your teamʼs manager at the start
of the season. The purpose of the form is to provide written
consent for medical treatment and instructions to first
responders and other medical personnel if your child needs
emergency medical treatment and a parent or guardian is not
present to provide consent. It is your team
managerʼs responsibility to keep a copy of
this form on hand for all players on the team during all
practices and games.
Preseason Assessments and Drafts
What is the purpose of the PTCLL preseason assessment process?
PTCLL conduct preseason player assessments for all players in
the Little League Division and the Senior Division. These
assessments serve two purposes.
- They allow us to slot players into the appropriate division
and subdivision based on their age, size, and skill level.
- They allow us to estimate the relative skill level of each
player within each division and subdivision, so that we can
help ensure a reasonable level of competitive parity among the
teams in each division and subdivision.
Must my child go through a preseason assessment?
ALL players who will play in the Little League Division or the
Senior Division must go through a preseason assessment. Players
who will play in the Tee-Ball / Rookie Division do not need to go
through an assessment.
What does the preseason assessment process entail?
During the preseason assessment process, each player will
participate in a series of simple baseball skill drills,
including throwing, fielding, and hitting. Players who are old
enough and have prior pitching experience can also undergo a
pitching assessment. Based on these drills, we collect data about
each playerʼs relative skill level, and that
data is subsequently used when we form teams for the season. Our
assessment process is overseen by members of the PTCLL Board of
Directors.
When and where are preseason assessments held?
Typically, our preseason assessments are held at D-BAT Peachtree City, 297 Dividend Drive,
Peachtree City, GA 30269. Note that assessments are open only
to players who have registered during the registration
period.
We do not publicly announce the preseason assessment schedule;
however, parents of registered players will receive more
information via email about assessments, including the assessment
schedule by age group, required equipment, etc.
Is the assessment process a “tryout”?
No. There are no “tryouts”
required for participation in PTCLL. All players who register
during the registration period will be assigned to a team and
will have an opportunity to play, regardless of experience or
skill level.
Can I attend and observe the assessment process?
Yes, we welcome and encourage you to attend and observe the assessment process.
What is the purpose of the PTCLL preseason draft process?
At the start of each season, when we are forming divisions and
teams, we try to create a reasonable level of competitive parity
among the teams within each division. To do this, we organize a
draft for each division. During the draft process, team managers
take turns selecting players from among the roster of available
players within their division, until all players in that division
have been selected. Each team manager is given a copy of the
assessment scores assigned to each player within the division, to
help ensure a fair draft. The draft is organized and overseen by
PTCLL Board members.
Does PTCLL permit players to be “frozen” on a specific team?
Officially, PTCLL policy does not permit any players to be
“frozen” on a team prior to the
draft, except for the children of the team manager. However,
informally, we understand that team managers often have
preferences for specific assistant coaches to help them, and we
also understand that players often have a preferred manager for
whom they want to play. At the draft, we try our best to
accommodate team managersʼ preferences for
assistant coaches and players, but we also reserve the right to
disallow specific arrangements if we feel they would create an
obvious and significant imbalance in team strength and
competitive parity within the division. If there are any
disagreements about what constitutes an obvious and significant
imbalance, we settle them during the draft through open
discussion and consensus among all the managers within a
division.
Can I attend and observe the draft process?
The draft for each division is open only to team managers and assistant coaches within that division.
What are the official rules of play for PTCLL?
Since PTCLL is affiliated with Little
League, we follow the official Little League Rules of Play as
documented in the Little League Rulebook App, which is available
for free download on the Apple App Store and the Google Play
Store. For more information about this app, see https://www.littleleague.org/playing-rules/little-league-rulebook-app/.
In addition to following the official Little League Rules of
Play, PTCLL also follows additional local rules as documented in
our PTCLL Rules of Play document, which is available here.
What bats are permitted in PTCLL play?
Please see the official Little League Bat Rules, available at
https://www.littleleague.org/playing-rules/bat-rules/.
Note that the bat rules differ by age group and division of
play.
In addition, please see the “Equipment” section of the PTCLL
Rules of Play document, which is available here.
My child is new to baseball. What equipment must I get?
Your child needs a baseball glove, athletic shoes with rubber cleats (metal spikes are prohibited), a baseball bat, and a
batting helmet. Your childʼs bat must comply with the official Little League Bat Rules, which are available at
https://www.littleleague.org/playing-rules/bat-rules/.
Note that the bat rules differ by age group and division of play.
Your childʼs helmet must comply with the official Little League rules regarding helmet safety, which state
the helmet must be affixed with the National Operating Committee on Standards for
Athletic Equipment (NOCSAE) symbol, indicating NOCSAE approval. In addition, the helmet must be free of cracks or other
visible damage, and all the internal padding must not be missing, tattered, torn or frayed.
In addition to this equipment, your child needs to wear a uniform during games. See the following question for more about
PTCLL uniform requirements.
Must I buy a uniform for my child?
Prior to the start of the season, your child will be assigned
to a team. The teamʼs name and uniform colors
will be chosen by the team manager. PTCLL will provide each
player with a hat, jersey, and belt with the appropriate team
logo and colors. You are responsible for providing your
childʼs uniform pants and socks, as well as
cleats. Your team manager will communicate with you to let you
know what color pants and socks the team will wear.
Team Schedule and Communications
What is my teamʼs practice schedule and game schedule?
You will receive information about your
teamʼs preseason practice schedule via email
within a few days after your teamʼs roster has
been announced. You will receive information about your
teamʼs game schedule and in-season practice
schedule 1-2 weeks prior to Opening Day for the season.
Where are my teamʼs practices and games held?
All games and most practices are held at the Peachtree City Athletic Complex, 1125 Hwy 74 S,
Peachtree City, GA 30269.
However, due to field availability constraints, some teams may
hold practices at the Braelinn Recreation Center, 201 Log House Rd,
Peachtree City, GA 30269.
How do PTCLL teams manage communication among coaches and parents?
Most PTCLL teams use the GameChanger mobile app to manage
communications among coaches and parents within the team.
However, some team managers may choose to use a different method
of communication, such as a group text or email.
How do I access my PTCLL team on the GameChanger mobile app?
If your team is using the GameChanger mobile app, you can access your
PTCLL team within the app as follows.
- Download GameChanger from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.
- Create an account in GameChanger using the same email
address that you use to log into your account on the PTCLL
website. It is important that you use the same email address

Little League All-Star Tournament Play
Do PTCLL teams participate in Little League All-Star tournaments?
Yes. Each summer, PTCLL forms all-star teams at multiple age
levels, and these teams compete against other Little League
all-star teams in Little League-sanctioned tournaments.
How are players selected for PTCLL all-star teams?
Little League all-star play happens each year during the
summer months, after our spring season ends. Our all-star teams
are comprised of players who participated during the spring
season. We select players through a structured process (see
below) in which team managers in each division of play cast a
ballot and vote for the players who are most deserving of
all-star selection based on their spring season performance.
PTCLL uses the following process to select players for its
all-star teams. Note that this process applies only to the spring
season. We do not select all-stars during the fall season.
- At the midpoint of the regular season, team managers in
each division submit a list of the players from their team
who they feel should be considered for all-star team
selection.
-
The names submitted for consideration are consolidated
into an “all-star watch
list” for each age group, and the watch lists
are distributed to team managers. Note that managers only
receive watch lists for the age groups in their respective
divisions.
-
At the conclusion of the regular season, each team
manager submits an all-star ballot for each age group in
their division. (For example, if a division consists of
players who are age 9-10, then managers in that division
submit an all-star ballot for 9-year-olds and a ballot for
10-year-olds.) On each all-star ballot, a manager may vote
for up to 9 players.
-
Votes are tallied for each age group, and when
necessary, ties are broken by the all-star team manager for
that age group based on the needs of the all-star team.
-
The official all-star roster for each age group is
posted on the PTCLL website at the end of the season, in
accordance with rules and dates imposed by Little
League.

I lost a glove, bat, or other item at the fields. Is there a PTCLL Lost & Found bin?
PTCLL maintains an unofficial “Lost &
Found” bin inside the snack stand on the
“Upper Pinwheel” of the PAC. The
Upper Pinwheel is the group of four fields (Fields 5-8) at the
southernmost end of the PAC. If you have lost an item, we
encourage you to visit the snack stand during its hours of
operation and ask to see the Lost & Found bin. The snack
stand is typically open whenever games are being played on Upper
